Join Gorp Girls NYC for a full day outside with the Appalachian Mountain Club at the Corman Harriman Outdoor Center in Harriman State Park.

What: We’re heading out of the city for AMC’s Curious by Nature, a full day of hiking, outdoor workshops, and time outside in Harriman State Park.
The day will include the opportunity to choose from programming like painting in nature, intro to fly fishing with Old Souls, guided hikes, paddling, a naturalist walk focused on lake ecology, and an outdoor skills social.
Lunch is included with every ticket, and no prior outdoor experience is required.
TICKET
$55 | NYC Transportation + Event
Includes round-trip transportation from Brooklyn, all daytime programming, and lunch.
Meet us in Brooklyn at 7:15 AM and we’ll head to Harriman together. The exact meeting location will be shared with ticket holders ahead of the event.
*OPTIONAL DINNER | +$25
AMC will host a community dinner from 6:00–7:00 PM for anyone who would like to stay for the evening. Dinner is an additional $25, followed by Adventures from the Continental Divide Trail at 7:00 PM and a s’mores bar at 8:00 PM.
Itinarary
9:00–10:00 AM | Moving Through Nature
A playful exploration of sound, movement, and the senses in nature.
10:00 AM–12:00 PM | Morning Workshops**
Choose between Painting in Nature or Intro to Fly Fishing with Old Souls.
Lunch
1:00 PM | Hike Prep, Trail Etiquette + Leave No Trace
1:30–4:00 PM | Group Outings
Choose from guided hikes, paddling, or a naturalist walk focused on lake ecology.
4:30–6:00 PM | Outdoor Skills Social
Hands-on demonstrations focused on camping, backpacking, outdoor safety, gear, and stewardship.
6:00 PM onward | Optional Evening Programming
Community dinner, Adventures from the Continental Divide Trail, and a s’mores bar.
WHAT TO BRING
Hiking shoes or sneakers with good traction, a small backpack, water, weather-appropriate layers, and anything else you need for a full day outside.
All experience levels are welcome. Come spend the day outside, try something new, and meet some new friends along the way."
